We have been advised of a heavy rainfall warning that will affect Siksika Nation. Please be advised of the following:

Expect heavy rain starting this afternoon and lasting through Tuesday night. Prepare for:
Total rainfall: 50 to 70 mm, with some areas possibly receiving 80 mm or more.
Timing: Rain tapers off Wednesday.
Hazards: Flash flooding, water pooling on roads, and localized flooding in low-lying areas. Possible washouts near waterways.
Important Safety Tips:
Avoid driving through flooded areas. "Turn around, don't drown!"
Stay away from rivers, creeks, and culverts. They may rise quickly and overflow.
If your area is prone to flooding, consider moving valuables to higher ground.
Have an emergency kit ready in case you need to evacuate.
